Halloween 2008

Well, it's been awhile since I last wrote...I am finding that going back to work fulltime and running a household doesn't leave a lot of time to blog. :o) Kyla had her 4 month checkup and is doing well. She weighed 13 lbs 12 oz and has almost doubled her birth weight. She has also started eating rice cereal. She is enjoying eating and is constantly watching us at dinner. She has also rolled over for the first time! We have mastered the art of rolling from her back to her belly and loves to lay on her side. She doesn't roll the other way but they say that comes in time. She has been so much fun and is a fairly content baby. She enjoys going to daycare and watching Vinny run around and show her the ropes.

For Halloween Kyla was a pumpkin and I took her into each of our offices and everyone loved her. We also joined in our first neighborhood Halloween parade. There were LOTS of kids and we enjoyed pizza at the end of the road. The dogs also took part...Tawny was a hot dog and Kali had Bronco Billy!

We are heading to the beach this weekend to spend time with Grandma and Pop Pop, Uncle Andy and Aunt Amy. We are looking forward to seeing relatives and friends this upcoming season and I will be sure to send everyone a holiday photo of Kyla - of course I already have her Christmas dress picked out!

Myrtle Beach

We went to Myrtle Beach from August 9th through August 15th. Our whole family attended as well as the Ohio Cohn's, Smith's and Grandma. Kyla experienced her first trip to the ocean and in a pool. She dipped her feet in both and floated in the pool. She enjoys the water in a bath but was unsure about these experiences. She eventually adapted and enjoyed herself. She loved to sleep on the beach and adjusted to the full house. Mom, Gma and Aunt Jan all were able to feed her and Lennon & I were able to go out to breakfast by ourselves!

Myrtle Beach was great and the weather was perfect minus one day of rain. We were able to relax in the ocean and catch some sun rays. Lennon was able to use Scuba Steve and swim up and down the beach. It was a nice relaxing vacation and a great time with the family. We can't wait until next summer when Kyla is bigger and can play in water and build sand castles. We will get to take full advantage of the beach house in Delaware. We can't wait until the next vacation....

4th of July

Kyla made her first visit to PA to Grandma & PopPop's house. We relaxed and took a trip to Uncle Andy's and Amy's house for dinner. On Monday we took at trip to Grandma's work so she could show Kyla off to her work friends. Everyone thought she was so cute and we even had her hands and feet printed.

Kyla took her first trip to the Beach House over the 4th of July weekend. We didn't make it to the beach but she went out to Fins (our favorite restaurant) and to a holiday party. She was 1 month over the weekend as well. She seemed to enjoy herself but was a bit fussy by the end of the weekend. The doctor said she was probably just having a bit of fussiness which babies do around 1 month. We can't wait until she gets a little bigger so we can take her to the beach and play in the sand and surf.

Great Grandma Cohn visited MD the following week and hung out with Kyla and Mommy and helped us out. She was a big help and enjoyed taking care of her first great grandchild. She can't get over how expressive she is and loves holding her. We can't wait to hang out with the whole family in August!

Kyla's Doctor's Visit

Kyla had her 1 month check up last night and she now weighs 10 lbs 0 ozs! She had to get 1 shot and have a heel prick done for a blood test...which she did not like. Otherwise the doctor said she looks very healthy.

She also grew to 21 1/8 inches and the doctor and nurse said she is very strong.

She has been sleeping well through the night...for about 5-6 hours, which mom is very happy about. She is able to hold her head up for about 30-60 seconds and is looking around the room more. She has started noticing mom and dad and following our voices.

Each day she is doing something new and it has been very exciting to experience her new life.

Kyla Madison Arrives!!

Well Kyla has finally arrived and we are tickled pink! She will be 4 weeks old this Friday and already there have been so many changes! She is more alert and I think she is actually looking at US and not just out the window. :o) She has been eating and sleeping fairly well and is overall a very content baby. Both Grandma's have been to visit often and are loving spending time with their first grandchild. Thank you for all their help during the first couple weeks...it was much appreciated!

Everyone who has sent us gifts and cards has been so generous and we couldn't have been more blessed with great family and friends. THANK YOU!!

Lennon and I have been adjusting and overall can't complain too much. We are excited for what is ahead and are enjoying every moment with Kyla. The pups are realizing that she isn't going anywhere and are adjusting as well. They like to give her kisses and see what she is doing. We hope they adjust this well when Kyla is moving around more and pulling their hair!

We are heading to the beach for the beginning of the 4th of July weekend and then Lennon is heading to Virgina to go fishing...we are hoping he comes home with a BIG tuna!! I will be heading with Kyla up to PA to spend some time with Grandma, Pop-Pop and Uncle Andy. Kyla will be traveling for her first time to three different states...she is already becoming a world traveler!
